Tim Russ

My name is Tim Russ, I come from London, England, and have now been working in Wall Street English for more than 6 years. I started as a trainee Service Manager, working as an FT and generally learning everything possible about the education and study system during this time. I also had great opportunities for being involved in different projects, including developing a learning system for absolute beginners in English, and also weekend trips away for students. After almost one year in “training” I then got my first promotion to the position of Service Manager of the BJ4 Oriental Plaza center,  and later BJ2 Cosco. Here I learnt the importance of maintaining strong stable systems in place (esp for large centers), clear communication between all staff at all times, and the importance of putting the needs of students first, both for study results and customer needs.

After this, I then moved to the position of Center Director, where I  managed 4 different centers over 3 years. I certainly faced many challenges, and highs and lows, but the excitement, team spirit and drive from working with some fantastic teams of staff I will never forget.

From the beginning of 2008 I then moved into the position of BJ Regional Operations Director, where I am in the position to serve and support a great team of CDs and SMs to help ensure their centers run as smoothly and successfully as possible.

I can honestly say I have loved every single day working in WSE, and am sure will continue to do so, because each day there is really is something new, something different going on. You are also always in the middle of everything, working and talking with customers, students and staff, often all at the same time! But perhaps the best thing for me is watching our company grow, develop and improve one step at a time, and for me it is an honour and privilege to be part of this, just as I am honoured to be loving in China at such a historically important time where everyone and everything is always moving forward.

Jackie Yu

Hello! My name's Jackie. I joined Wall Street English China on December 2005 where I started my career as an intern software engineer. Nice working environment, friendly and supportive people, it has been my first impression of WSE, and I enjoyed working here and growing with a rapidly developing company where I was able to see for myself its development from small one to big one. That’s rare and great experience.

As a leading English language training provider, company provided me with continuous professional English training courses to help me reach higher in English language study and get prepared for a higher position in my career. In my work, I've been expected to do "the world best" and I've learnt to analyze business not only from technology and team's perspective but also from a manager's view.

In WSE, it's full of career development opportunities because of its rapid development. I've been seeing so many people be promoted to higher level since my join. And I myself am also a living example: In 2006, after I joined WSE for six months, I was promoted as software engineer and later in 2007 as application development team leader, responsible for developing internal applications and platforms.

I hope my experience here could be helpful for you to understand more about WSE.
